1 Corinthians 2:2 “For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” This is how we tell others about Jesus. We should present the message without knowing about others. Why is this? If we are walking in Christ, a person’s history or fame doesn’t matter. The message is clear, all of us are sinners and need repentance and salvation. The message is truth and pure. 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 says “I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So, neither the one who plants nor the one that waters is anything, but God causes the growth.” Too many who say they are walking as Christ walked look around to see who needs salvation. It is with eyes of the flesh that looks at a person, their lifestyle, their shortcomings and then decides they need the message. Foolishness is what this is. If we believe that salvation is by faith that Jesus came to be the only sacrifice for our sins, we should be proclaiming this message to everyone, as everyone needs to hear the message. So many times, I hear people say, this person needs God because they aren’t living right; or that person who is an addict needs to know Jesus. How about when you hear the phrase ‘he needs to get right with the Lord?” Every person on this earth needs to hear the message. God causes the growth. It’s the message everyone needs to hear. We need to stop deciding who needs to hear the message and just tell the message to all. Acts 8:35 says, “And Philip opened his mouth and beginning from this scripture he preached Jesus to him.” What passage of scripture was the eunuch reading? A passage from Isaiah the prophet. Acts 8:32-33, “Now the passage of scripture he was reading was this. “He was led as a sheep to slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He does not open His mouth. In humiliation His judgement was turned away. Who shall relate His generation. for His life is removed from the earth.” The Spirit led Philip to this eunuch to ask if he understood what he was reading. So, Philip began to tell him about Jesus. The disciples went into each city and preached the gospel to everyone. They didn’t go just to people they thought needed to hear about Jesus. They were led by the Spirit to tell everyone. They understood that all are sinners that need to hear who Jesus is. When we understand this, the need to tell everyone about Jesus becomes a priority. God causes the growth. Understand that this is the reason we must tell everyone. The message doesn’t return void. God examines the heart and causes the growth.
