A little sin

Titus 3:1-7 “Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be uncontentious, gentle, showing every consideration to all men. For we once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our lives in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds, which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” I titled this message “A little sin”. We want to label sin in degrees or levels. As long as we can justify our actions as not being the worst sin on the list we have set in our minds as sin, we are okay. Right? We can say to ourselves like the Pharisee who came to the temple praying “I thank God, I am not like other people, robbers, evildoers, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.” John 8:43-44, “Why do you not understand what I am saying? Is it because you cannot hear My word? You are of your father the devil and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature for he is a liar and the father of all lies.” Just as the serpent deceived Eve in the garden to disobey God by telling her she will not die if she eats of the fruit of the tree God told her not to eat, we get deceived by thinking a little disobedience won’t hurt. John 8:31-32, Jesus therefore was saying to the Jews who had believed Him. If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of mine and you shall know the truth ant the truth shall make you free.” Verse 34-36, “Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin and the slave does not remain in the house forever, the son shall remain forever. If therefore, the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.” Don’t be fooled into thinking that little act of disobedience to God is okay. That act of disobedience is from believing the lie the devil is telling you. If you have been made free from the slave of sin by Jesus Christ, you shall be free indeed. There is no such thing as “a little sin.” Any act of disobedience to God we must recognize as sin and repent.
