Ezekiel 3:18-19, “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die; and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood, I will require at your hand. Yet if you have warned the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself.” Romans 6:23 tell us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I watched a video the other day of a man on the street asking people who passed by if they had a minute to hear about Jesus. The responses from the people walking by was so sad. The man approached so many just going about their day to ask them the question. Some would initially stop to see what the man was asking but would immediately say they didn’t have time or were not interested. Some wouldn’t stop but kept walking. The video clip was less than a minute long. This man approached maybe 20 people. Some would say ‘not interested’ or as soon as the man said just the name of Jesus would turn and walk away. It was sad to watch the people’s responses. Less than a minute video, 20 people hurrying away from his words. In our daily life how many have we told about Jesus Christ? We encounter lots of people each day, at the grocery store, at the convenience store, at the doctor’s office or at work. Have we told them about Jesus? Are we sitting idle? Do we not want to share the good news of eternal life, or His forgiveness of sin, His love and mercy. Do we keep this to ourselves? Is it out of fear of rejection or that it may cause the person to walk away? The words from God in this scripture should be our wake-up call. The wages of sin is death, but we have a free gift of eternal life to tell others about Jesus. “When I say to the wicked, you shall surely die and you do not warn them or speak out to the wicked man that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.” God has put on my heart this past week scriptures of His lovingkindness, how we get distracted, and what the greatest of hope, faith and love is, which is love. Our love for God and the grace He has given us needs to be told to everyone. “Yet, if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked ways, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered yourself.” Lord, open my heart and my eyes that I may see through You the opportunities given to me each day to tell others about Jesus.
If we sit idle
