Until Thy people pass over

Exodus 13:20-22, “Then they set out from Succoth and camped in Etham on the edge of the wilderness. And the Lord was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night before the people.” The greatness of God is displayed in Exodus. How He parted the Red Sea, and the Israelites walked across on dry land. How the sea covered their pursuers, and they were all drowned. Moses sang a song to the Lord after witnessing the great power of God that day. In Exodus 15:16-17 it says, “Terror and dread fell upon them; by the greatness of Thine own arm they are motionless as stone; Until Thy people pass over O Lord, Until the people pass over whom Thou has purchased. Thou will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Thine inheritance.” God goes before us to lead us by day and by night. When we are at the edge of the wilderness, He is there, every step of the way. Until Thy people pass over to the land of Thine inheritance. The song Moses and Israel sang that day to the Lord is one to put in your heart. God is with us. He goes before us to show us His lovingkindness and power to keep us from the enemy who pursues us relentlessly. Not just sometimes is He with us, but He is with us in the midst of our troubles. He is there until we pass over to the place He has promised. Jesus told His disciples in John 14:1-4, “Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you, for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way I am going.” The song tells us “Until Thy people pass over, O Lord. Until Thy people pass over whom Thou has purchased.” Amen!!
