Dull Hearts

Matthew 13:15, “And the heart of the people becomes dull, and with ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes lest they should see with their eyes and hear with the ears and understand with their heart and return and I shall heal them.” The heart of the people has become dull. This was a prophecy of Isaiah. Jesus’s disciples asked Him why He spoke in parables. He said in Matthew 13:13, “Therefore, I speak to them in parables, because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.” This is the world we are currently living in. Hearts have become dull; senses are shutting down. People are turning a blind eye to what’s happening in society. I think of the three monkeys, hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil. I think of Revelations 2 and 3 the message given to the seven churches all end in “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 3:15 is a message to the last church, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot, I would that you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.” God told John with a loud voice to write what he sees in a book and send it to the seven churches. Are we starting to relate to the parable? Are we scarcely hearing God? Have we begun to close our eyes so not to see. God said, “he who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Isaiah’s prophecy said, “lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts and return and I will heal them.” He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Are our ears tuned to God’s voice? I urge you to read Revelations 2 and 3. Each church was told to overcome. Don’t let your heart become dull. Listen first with ears that want to hear God’s voice.
