Psalm 139:1-4, “O Lord, Thou has searched me and known me. Thou dost know when I sit down and when I rise up; Thos dost scrutinize my path and my lying down, and art intimately acquainted in all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold O Lord, Thou dost know it all.” It is such a comfort to serve an all-knowing God. Psalm 139:6 says, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain it.” We can never understand the ways of God. What we are told throughout the Bible is His lovingkindness is everlasting. Thank about this. A love so great that He knows when we sit or rise. Before a word is on our tongue He knows our ways. The love God has for us we cannot comprehend. In John 3:3, Jesus told Nicodemus how unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. This confused Nicodemus. He could not understand the concept of being born again when he is old. He said, you cannot enter a second time into your mother’s womb and be born. Jesus told him in John 3:6, “that which is flesh is born of flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” Jesus was telling Nicodemus about God’s love. A love that redeems us. A love that offers us forgiveness, a clean slate. A way to begin anew. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Psalm 139 was written a thousand years before the book of John. His lovingkindness is everlasting. Knowing all our ways, God’s love for us never changes.
