A reason for laughter

Genesis 21:6, “And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh for me.” Proverbs 17:22, says “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Have you ever wondered why it is so easy to smile and rejoice when hearing what God has done in someone’s life? In Genesis 18:9-14, it says, “and they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife? “And he said, “behold in the tent”. And he said, “I will surely return to you at this time next year and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him. Now, Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; Sarah was past childbearing and Sarah laughed to herself saying “After I have become old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying “Shall I indeed bear a child when I am old? Is anything too difficult for the Lord? At the appointed time, I will return to you, at this time next year and Sarah shall have a son.” My favorite part of these verses is verse 14, “Is anything too difficult for the Lord?” In every situation, if we remember this verse, it will bring laughter to our hearts. To know nothing is too difficult for God, is the reason for our laughter. Genesis 21:1 tells us, “Then the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised.” Matthew 19:26 tells us, “And looking upon them Jesus said to them, “With man, this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” We have a reason for laughter. We serve God to which nothing is too difficult, and all things are possible. Amen!
