God in a box

Psalm 145:11-13, “They shall speak of the glory of Thy kingdom, and talk of Thy power, to make known to the sons of man Thy mighty acts; and the glory of the majesty of Thy kingdom. Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Thy dominion endures throughout all generations.” It saddens me to hear when people forget who God is. They try to put God into a box they can handle. To limit His divineness. We can never understand the vastness of God. The love He has for man. The greatness of His power and glory. So, we put pieces of Him into a box we can handle. In this box we can then carry Him throughout our life. The box is manageable. It’s not too heavy and therefore we can still go about our lives. The box is special for sure. Something we treasure, but it is contained. This makes it easier to move about in our own understanding. We can say I can’t go that way because the box won’t fit. I can only do this or that, so I can still carry the box. Man tries to limit God to his own understanding. Do you not realize God created the heavens and the earth? He caused a flood that covered the entire earth. He parted the Red Sea. He shut the lions’ mouths. He caused manna to fall from heaven to feed His people for 40 years. From a virgin a child was born to be our salvation. He heals the sick. the lame could walk, the blind could see. Demons knew His power and begged Him to not cast them out. His love for us took away all our sins. He has victory over death. God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Psalm 150:1-2 says, “Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His greatness.” Foolish men put God in a box. They think they can contain Him. Hebrews 13:8 tells us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” God cannot be contained. “Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” I serve a mighty God. I will not put Him in a box to try to limit Him or to lean on my own understanding. My trust and faith rests in the Creator of the heavens and the earth. I will walk in the power of His might. I will thank and praise Him for His grace and mercy. Proverbs 30:5:6, “Every word of God is tested. He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words, lest He reprove you and be proved a liar.”
