I’m just a nobody, saved by grace

2 Corinthians 12:9, “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” I saw a saying the other day that said, “If you want God to open the door, let go of the handle.” I was reminded of Paul’s thorn in the flesh that he entreated the Lord three times to be gone. The words Paul was given were, “My grace is sufficient for you.” This is a reminder to us. The significance of God’s grace is our strength. The Bible tells us that while we were in our sins, Christ gave His life for us. Think about that. When we deserved only death, for the wages of sin is death, God gave us grace. A gift not based on merit but based on His everlasting goodness and love. Romans 3:23-24 tells us, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace, through the redemption which is Christ Jesus.” We have been redeemed. Jesus is our Redeemer, who rescued us by paying the price for us to be reunited to God. We can echo Paul’s words in Philippians 3:13, “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet, but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead.”
