No, “Courtesy hangup”

Psalm 86:7, “In the day of my trouble, I shall call upon Thee.” Nowadays, we are inundated with Spam calls. People trying to sell us something or at times even trying to scam you. Some have put a Spam Blocker service on their phones to block unwanted calls. This only allows those on their contact list to come through. Have you ever tried to call someone with some important news or just wanting to talk and it goes to voicemail? As a tax professional, I often hear from my clients of how difficult it is to get through to the IRS. They are put on hold upwards to 90 minutes at times. They hear the words “Due to an increase in volume to try again on another day”. Sometimes even worse when they are on hold after 90 minutes, they have what is called a “Courtesy hangup.” The line just drops. My Bible has titled Psalm 86 as “A Psalm of supplication and Trust. A prayer of David.” The scripture verse says, “In the day of my trouble, I shall call upon Thee.” 2 Timothy 2:19 tells us, “Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His” and “Let anyone who names the name of the Lord abstain from wickedness.” When you are one of God’s, you can be assured that when you call upon the Lord, He hears you. Psalm 139:14 tells us, “Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold O Lord, Thou dost know it all.”
