Out of range

Psalm 66:18, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” Probably the most frustrating thing when we moved to our small town was the “No Service” signal we always got on our cell phones. Our phones would drop calls in the middle of conversations. We have to be sure to set our map application when we are connected to the internet or in good range of a cell tower, otherwise, the “rerouting” occurs if we are driving and make a wrong turn. That first year here, we spent a lot of time lost on a county road waiting for a good signal to get us back on course. Verizon had a great commercial a few years ago, that had the slogan “Can you hear me now?” Psalm 139:23-24 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my anxious thoughts: and see if there is any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” 2 Corinthians 13:5 tells us, “Test yourself to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you-unless indeed you fail the test?” We should never be out of range of hearing God’s voice. If we find ourselves getting static or not knowing God’s plan in our lives, we need to ask God to search our hearts for any hinderance within that is keeping us from His path. Ask yourselves, “Can He hear you now?”
