Presence of my enemies

Psalm 23:5, “Thou doest prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou has anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows.” What better statement can be said from God to His people? God is telling us how He supplies us with all we need right in the presence of our enemies. During our struggles and worries, God lays out His blessings. He lets us know nothing the enemy does stops Him from providing our every need. His overwhelming goodness and strength are given to us to nourish us in every circumstance. In the presence of our enemy, God supplies us with everything we need. The Psalm begins with “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” God has anointed our heads with oil, our cup overflows. Anointing someone’s head with oil is a sign of God’s approval, that he is chosen by God. It symbolizes God’s power and presence. It signifies God’s abundant blessings, His provision and care for His people. He prepares a table before us. He is everything we need. When we accept Jesus as our Savior we are given a seat at this table. We have the placeholder for a seat to all God’s promises. In the enemies’ presence, we can take our seat at what God provides. We lack nothing because God is with us. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” In Revelation 19:9 it says, “And he said to me “Write, blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb’ and he said to me, “these are true words of God.” Yes, God prepares a table before us, in the presence of our enemies. We have God’s approval and anointing through Jesus Christ to take a seat at all that is provided. We have been invited to the table by accepting the invitation of Jesus Christ. Our cup overflows. Praise be to God for supplying all our needs. These are the true words of God.
