Psalm 56:8, “Thou has taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Thy bottle; are they not in Thy book?” So often we get caught up in the moment of a storm in our life, we forget to trust in God. Romans 12:2 says, “and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good, and acceptable, and perfect.” We forget to look to God in our storm. The One who puts our tears in His bottle as the Psalm says. Matthew 10:29-30 says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs on your head are numbered.” I am reminded of Peter when Jesus came to the disciples walking on water in Matthew 14:25-28. Verse 27 says, “But immediately, Jesus spoke to them saying ‘Take courage, it is I do not be afraid.’” Immediately, Jesus spoke. Yet, Peter answered Jesus and said, “Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” Isn’t this just like us. We ask God to calm the storm, to take away our sickness, to sit things right. Jesus answered Peter and said, “Come” and Peter got out of the boat and walked toward Jesus. With his eyes on Jesus, he walked on the water. It was only when Peter began to look around he became afraid and began to sink. He cried out to Jesus to save him. Verse 31 says, “Immediately, Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him.” God is the one that knows your tears, and the hairs on your head are numbered. Renew your mind to trust Him in the storms for His will for you is good, acceptable and perfect.
