Matthew 18:18-20, “Truly I say to you, whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My Name, there I am in their midst.” Truly I say to you and again I say” Jesus tells us the power of prayer when “they” agree on earth. Prior to these verses Jesus tells us about the importance of not being a stumbling block to the little children and brothers that are His. Matthew 8:12 says, “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep and one of them has gone astray. does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go and search for the one that is straying?” Are we tending His sheep? Do we gather together and pray for one another? Matthew 25:40 says, “And the king will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you to the extent you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even to the least of them, you did it for Me’.” Verses 41-45 warns us about neglecting those that are His. “For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink; I was a stranger and you did not invite Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me. Then they themselves will also answer, saying ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger or naked, or sick or in prison and did not take care of you?’ Then He will answer them saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.” Are we tending his sheep? Too often, believers are left to fight off the enemy on their own. There is a reason the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, “Two are better than one because they have a good return on their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift them up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.” The above verses emphasizes those that are His, those who are His brothers, need one another. Sheep have a strong flocking instinct. They feel safer when gathered together. Jesus gave instructions to us where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there I am in their midst.” At a time in this world when the enemy is attacking believers, it is so important to be there for one another. There is power in the midst of two or three gathered together in Jesus’s name.
