Psalm 91:1-2 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God in whom I trust.” Psalm 56:3-4 “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee. In God, whose word I praise. In God, I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?” We can say ‘I believe in Jesus, that he died for my sins and through Him I have forgiveness of my sins’. We have faith that by grace we are saved. However, we falter at times with putting our trust in God for all things. The Oxford dictionary defines the verb “trust” as to “believe in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of.” Let me share a few examples of the evidence the Bible gives us. God’s reliability – Numbers 23:19 says “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken and will He not make good?” God’s truth, John 14:6 “Jesus, said to Him ” I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me.” God’s ability – Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” God’s strength – Isaiah 43:2-3 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Isarael, your Savior.” When we put our trust in God, we shall have a refuge and a fortress. We shall not be afraid. He is a God who is able to exceedingly abundantly do beyond all we ask or think. Amen!
