Matthew 7:20, 24-25 “So you will know them by their fruit.” “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the wind blew and burst against that house, and yet it did not fall for it had been founded upon the rock.” People can identify fruit. They know the difference between an orange and broccoli. Galatians 5:22-23 tells us “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against such things there is no law.” In Jesus’s description of the wise man who built his house on the rock, He proclaims when the rain and floods came, and the wind blew and burst against the house it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock. Galatians 5:25 “If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.” If our house is built upon Jesus, even when things come against us, we can continue to be known by our fruit. Psalm 62:6-8 “He only is my rock and my salvation. My stronghold, I shall not be shaken. O God my salvation and my glory rest; the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times O people; pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
