Matthew 18:19-20 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask that it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together, in My Name, there I am in their midst.” Jesus was telling His disciples about the need to pray and the need to pray for others. When someone asks for prayer, it is a request for us to come together and go before God. Think about these verses, if two or three agree on earth about anything that they may ask it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. Where two or three are gathered, in My Name, there I am in their midst. What a powerful statement. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Jesus tells his disciples a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not lose heart. Luke 18:1-7 “Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not lose heart. Saying, ‘There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. And there was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him saying ‘Give me legal protection from my opponent’. And for a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, even though I do not fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, lest by continually coming she wears me out.’” Hear what the unrighteous judge said, now shall not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night. And will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes will He find faith in the earth?” David in Psalms 5:3 sums it up. “In the morning O Lord, though wilt hear my voice. In the morning, I will order my prayer and eagerly watch.” Where two or three agree on earth, He is in our midst. Rejoice always, then pray without ceasing, giving thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you and most importantly, eagerly watch.
